Santa Fe River Access Point
Summary
Hollingsworth Bluff is a small public boat ramp on the Santa Fe River commonly used by kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters. Despite the name, the actual river access is the ramp marked “Boat Ramp” on maps — not the inland pin labeled Hollingsworth Bluff.
This is a simple, no-frills launch in a narrower, scenic stretch of the river. It’s frequently used as a take-out point for paddlers floating downstream from Poe Springs Park.

Launch & Take-Out Details
This ramp works well as either:
-
A launch point for short upstream/downstream paddles
-
A take-out spot for longer trips from Poe Springs
The river here is:
-
Slightly narrower and shallower than some other Santa Fe sections
-
Generally slow-moving, but always check recent rainfall and river levels
Footing can be slick at the ramp edge — use caution when launching or exiting.
Swimming
Some visitors swim here when conditions are calm, but keep in mind:
-
This is a natural river, not a designated swim area
-
No lifeguards
-
Watch for current, submerged branches, and changing depth
