Manatee Mineral Springs Park is a small historic park in Bradenton, Florida, located near the Manatee River. Formerly known as Indian Springs Park, the site is named for a natural spring that was historically used by Indigenous peoples, early settlers, and travelers along the river.
Today, the spring itself is not the main attraction in the way it would be at a swimming spring. Instead, the park is best understood as a historic riverfront site with walking paths, picnic areas, a gazebo, interpretive signs, and a boardwalk extending toward the Manatee River.
What to Expect
Visitors should not expect a large visible swimming spring or a warm mineral spring experience like Warm Mineral Springs in North Port. Manatee Mineral Springs Park is more of a quiet neighborhood park and heritage site than a spring recreation area.
The park is especially significant for its connection to early Manatee settlement history, Indigenous history, and the Angola community. It has also been recognized as part of the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.
Amenities may include picnic tables, a gazebo, interpretive plaques, river views, and access to the Bradenton Riverwalk area.
