Summary
Jamison Spring is a third-magnitude spring in Florida’s Santa Fe River basin, located near Fort White in Columbia County. It sits close to Sunbeam Spring along the same stretch of the Santa Fe River, but is much less visible and far less visited.
Unlike many well-known Florida springs, Jamison Spring is intermittent. It only flows when groundwater levels in the Floridan Aquifer are high enough. During lower water table periods, the spring may have little to no visible discharge.
Because the spring is surrounded by private property and has no public access, it is primarily of interest as a hydrologic feature rather than a recreational destination.
Activities
Jamison Spring is not a recreation site.
There are:
-
No swimming areas
-
No launch points
-
No public viewing areas
-
No facilities
Paddlers on the Santa Fe River may pass near the area, but the spring itself is not developed, signed, or intended as a stop.
Access
Jamison Spring is surrounded by private property, and there is no legal land route to the spring. There is also no designated river access point specifically for this spring.
While it lies near the Santa Fe River corridor and close to public launches such as Bowman’s Landing, visitors should not attempt to approach or land in the area unless they have explicit permission from property owners.
This spring is best regarded as a mapped natural feature rather than a destination.
